What is Exothermic Technology?

The Calura exothermic system is an innovative technology that was designed to maximise dye penetration and minimise hair damage. Each shade was formulated to generate a specific increase in temperature to achieve desired results. The temperature increase varies from about +4°C (+7°F) to about +11°C (+19°F), opening the cuticle gently ensuring optimal dye penetration. As a bonus, this heat allows a thorough penetration of the certified organic essences found in Calura’s unique formula. The outcome is unparalleled and radiant shine!

How do we use Smart Concentrate by Blacklight with Calura Permanent?

Use 2ml of Blacklight Smart Prevention and Strengthening Concentrate for every 30ml of hair colour. Add developer as per hair colour instructions.
Process colour
Detox hair with Blacklight Smart Purifying Shampoo Professional. If shampoo lather turns pinkish, rinse the hair with abundant water until water runs clean. Do not repeat shampoo application.
Apply Blacklight Smart Repair Conditioner (for healthy hair) or Blacklight Smart Bond Builder and Repair Treatment (for porous hair) and comb hair for even distribution.
Process for 3-5 minutes (Conditioner) and rinse or process for 5 minutes (Treatment) and rinse.
Gently remove excess water from the hair with a soft fabric towel.
Add one or two 10p sized amounts of Blacklight Smart Oil on the palm of your hands. Rub your hands together and distribute product on lengths and ends. For curly hair, follow the instructions above.
Dry and style as usual

FORMULAS

Goal: To create a beautiful dimensional brunette that is low maintenance while looking expensive.

Create this look: Calura Permanent 6-318/6GAB | Calura Permanent 8-318/8GAB | Calura 20 Vol (6%) Developer | Calura Demi Effect Developer Lotion

Step 1: Hair Pops
15 Foil Placement Lightening technique using Blacklight Cool Toned Blonde Lightener with 20 Vol (6%) Blacklight Smart Developer with Smart Concentrate.

Step 2: Create Depth
As the foils are processing, create lower lights by painting Calura Permanent 6-318/6GAB with Calura Permanent Developer 20 Vol (6%) with Smart Concentrate. Allow to process for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Tone
Once your foils are done processing, tone using Calura Permanent 8-318/ 8GAB and Calura Demi-Effect Developer lotion. Allow to process for 10 minutes

Goal: Fill her copper and create a shiny and low maintenance brunette.

Create this look: Calura Permanent 5-4/5G, Calura Permanent 4-13/4AG

Step 1: Fill
Filling the mid to ends using Calura Permanent 5-4/5G Calura Demi Effect Developer with Smart Concentrate. Let process for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Overlay
Apply Globally Calura Permanent Matte 4-13/4AG with Calura 20 Vol (6%) Let process for 30 minutes

FORMULAS

Goal: To cancel any tones from the red family (in this case pink!) while also covering white hair from the guest's re-growth.

Create this look: Calura Permanent 3 Intense Neutral, Calura Permanent 2 Neutral, Calura Permanent 4Neutral and Calura Permanent Matte 4-13/4AG.

Step 1: White Hair Coverage

Apply on re-growth equal parts Calura Permanent 3 Intense Neutral and 2 Neutral with Calura Permanent 20 Vol (6%) with Smart Concentrate. Let process for 40-45 minutes.

Step 2: Cancel the Pink

Apply Globally, 30oz. Calura Permanent 4Neutral and 20oz. Calura Permanent 4-13/4AG with Calura Demi Effect Developer. Let process for 30 minutes.

Goal: Create a subtle, yet dimensional brunette without using any lightener. This is perfect for those brunette guests who are afraid to touch the lightener! Create a great natural and low maintenance look!

Create this look: Calura Permanent 12-16/12AV.

Step 1: Section & Lifts

Hair was sectioned to have some of her hair left natural and other parts painted with Calura Permanent 12-16/12AV with Calura Developer 30 Vol (9%) with Smart Concentrate. Allow process up to 60 minutes.

Step 2: Create Depth
As the foils are processing, create lower lights by painting Calura Permanent 6-318/6GAB with Calura Permanent Developer 20 Vol (6%) with Smart Concentrate. Allow to process for 30 minutes.

Jladner Cobra balayage technique to lighten using 15oz. Blacklight Extra Blonde and 15oz. Blacklight Balayage Clay with Blacklight Smart Developer 30 Vol. (9%) with Smart Concentrate. Allow process up to desired level of lift.

Step 2: Global Application

Global application, equal parts with Calura Permanent 6-7/6M and 6-34/6GK and Calura Demi-Effect Developer lotion. Allow to process for 10 minutes.

Step 1: Crown of the Head

The crown of the head was painted with equal parts of Calura Permanent 6-318/6GAB and Calura Permanent 6-34/6GK with Calura Permanent Developer 10 Vol (3%) with Smart Concentrate. Allow to process for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Melted

Mid to ends was melted with Calura Permanent 8-34/8GK with Calura Permanent Developer 20 Vol (6%) with Smart Concentrate. Allow to process for 30 minutes.

Goal: We wanted to lift her darker hair without lightener, while covering her white hair to create a beautiful warm golden blonde.

Create this look: Calura Permanent 12-6/12V, Calura Permanent 10 Neutral.

Step 1: The Base

To achieve the ideal canvas to create a warm and rich blonde, we first lifted her with Calura Permanent Pure Blondes 12-6/12V and Calura Developer 40 Vol (12%) with Smart Concentrate.

Step 2: Golden Blonde

Apply Calura Permanent 10 Neutral with Calura 30 Vol (9%) Process for 50 minutes.
